Garry & Mark - Trades Hall of Glasgow Wedding, Scotland

“I will love you forever; whatever happens. Till I die and after I die, and when I find my way out of the land of the dead, I'll drift about forever, all my atoms, till I find you again."

~ Philip Pullman, The Amber Spyglass

This Pride Month, I couldn't be prouder to share Garry & Mark's story; one of the most emotional weddings I've had the pleasure of documenting.

Clearly two gents with an eye for a venue, you'd be hard pressed to find a cooler (or more photogenic!) location for the morning's haircut than Soul Barber Rooms, ️after which we moved onto the main event at the historic Trades Hall of Glasgow. There, in the mahogany panelled walls of the Saloon, the kilted couple - in tears before they'd even reached the white marble fireplace - met to exchange their vows, and quite literally tied the knot in a traditional Celtic handfasting ceremony (with some slightly less traditional fabric choices reflecting one of the groom's enduring love of the The Little Mermaid). In attendance was one very special member of the wedding party: their Bearded Collie, Ianto!

Later, against the spectacular Victorian backdrop of the Grand Hall, the couple were serenaded by the groomsmaids with a self-penned ballad that told their love story from start to present. Fittingly for a couple who got engaged at Comic-Con, each table was bedecked with a pair of Funko Pop figures spanning their shared love of nerd culture; from the Joker & Harley Quinn, Beauty & the Beast, Ron & Hermione, to Frodo & Sam.

That evening, the party was well underway as The Invitations took to the stage. Garry and Mark danced the night away surrounded by the people they loved most in the world; all of whom had come together to celebrate this beautiful marriage.
